Orangethorpe ADU

LifeArk and Illumination Housing LLC (IHLLC), a fund affiliated with homeless service providers Illumination Foundation, is constructing an accessory dwelling unit in Fullerton, CA.

IHLLC, owner of the project, and Illumination Foundation currently houses and provides services to a previously homeless family in the main home and plans to house another family in the ADU.

The ADU was built quickly and with minimal disturbance to the neighbors - no large trucks or heavy construction equipment such as cranes were needed—all parts of the home were assembled using a forklift. LifeArk’s design and facade treatment with the pitched roof, window overhands, and mahogany-colored cladding allow the ADU to fit in seamlessly into the makeup of the neighborhood.
