Watsonville Housing Navigation Center

LifeArk in partnership with non-profit affordable housing developer DignityMoves and the County of Monterey on an existing Westview Presbyterian Church parking lot is designing a 34-bed navigation center in the City of Watsonville to house the city’s most vulnerable population.

The project will have 34 beds, shared restrooms showers laundry, outdoor gathering space, dog run, and administrative office space. Program also combines a weekly feeding program by the church on an adjacent open space between the church and the navigation center.

This site poses a special challenge as it sits on a 100-year FEMA floodplain, thus requiring strict compliance with finish floor elevation requirements. Because LifeArk modules already sit 28” above ground, integrated structural shimming system allows cost-effective compliance with stringent FEMA floodplain requirements.

Lifeark will provide design and state approvals as well as manufacturing and factory assembly of all housing modules. Lifeark will also provide engineering and sourcing of integrated deck and fencing system. Swinerton Construction will provide all aspect of site work including the final assembly of the Lifeark modules onsite.

The project is currently undergoing design and review.
