Santa Maria - Hope Village
Dignity Moves’ project Hope Village, in partnership with the County of Santa Barbara, Gensler, LifeArk, Frank Schipper Construction, Tynan Group, and Montecito Bank & Trust will be an interim supportive housing community specifically for people experiencing homelessness in the Santa Maria Valley. Hope Village is a public-private collaboration between Good Samaritan Shelters, Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley, Dignity Health’s Marian Regional Medical Center, Dignity Moves, and the County of Santa Barbara.
LifeArk modules, approved under State’s HCD’s Commercial Modular program is providing 10 ensuite accessible units as well as all of the project’s sanitation facilities including accessible bath/shower and laundry facilities.
“This community will serve only north county individuals experiencing homelessness. It will have 94 rooms, 10 of which for transitional age youth (“TAY”) and operated by Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley. 30 of the rooms in this Village will be reserved for people experiencing homelessness that require recuperative care after being discharged from area hospitals and medical providers. 10 of the rooms will be reserved for veterans.”
